New hearing on Britney Spears conservatorship in November

The rollercoaster of events has been so wild that is hard to understand where we’re at when it comes to Britney Spears and her conservatorship, still in place after 12 years.

New court documents keep on being filled in and, each day, there’s more and more to the story. Days after we reported Britney was not happy at all with how the conservatorship was being held, her lawyer has taken the world by storm by exposing Britney’s dad after an unusual request.

Jamie Spears filed a petition with the Superior Court of California on August 18 to have Andrew Wallet back as a co-conservatorship of Britney – Wallet had resigned in 2019 – which was not seen with good eyes by Britney nor her lawyer, Sam Ingham.

Britney fights back

According with documents obtained by THE BLAST, Ingham goes off on Jamie’s request:

– After denying that any structural change to this conservatorship was necessary, an hour before the last hearing James suddenly reversed direction (…). James chose to work in direct opposition to her clear statement that she “strongly prefers to have a qualified corporate fiduciary appointed to serve in this role”.
Britney’s lawyer continued:

– In fact, Mr. Wallets’s sudden departure after 11 years was “voluntary” only in the sense that he wasn’t removed. Rather, it was negotiated by court-appointed counsel for Britney and supported by consideration to Mr. Wallet in the form of a $100,000.00 “golden parachute”.

To add on those, Ingham pointed out that Jaime Spears “modified” the amount TRI STAR SPORTS AND ENTERTAINMENT GROUP – Lou Taylor’s company – was paid by the conservatorship.

– In considering the economic impact of Mr. Wallets’s return on Britney’s estate, it should be noted that on December 20, 21 2019, James modified the compensation of TRI STAR SPORTS AND ENTERTAINMENT GROUP to provide for a minimum annual fee of $500,000.00, this represents more than double of the initial agreement.

In the end, Sam Ingham asks the court to appoint an investment bank as Britney claims she has little to no connection to her father’s choice.

Jamie requests last minute hearing

Faced with that, Jamie requested a last minute hearing to the court so they could deny all the accusations made.

Court accepted Jamie’s request and the hearing happened this morning (16). According with Britney’s Gram Twitter, one of the first orders of business Judge Penny attended to was announcing her tentative decision to deny Jamie’s motion to seal all documents/hearings involving the re-appointment of Andrew Wallet.

During the last minute hearing, Britney’s lawyer started off by indicating that he’d filed a report with the court yesterday, which had still not been delivered, and that he had “received arguments (from Jamie’s side) so close to the hearing” that in the interest of thoroughness, he wanted more time to review them.

With all of this, and with more to come, the hearing was postponed to 10 November 2020.
